Made of 3/16" thick Tool steel, they cut a nice W i d e profile for your bearing string to run through. The steel is left unhardened, for ease in sharpening with a file. The teeth are angled back as the Japanese saws are, so they cut on the back stroke for a more smooth, controlled cut. The Solid brass handles are angled up and over so you clear the plate. Approximately 3" of cutting length, and the total length is about 9" long. The low end saw is only bent once, slightly upward, but has a longer cutting edge. The High saw is bent twice, for more room in the treble section of the bridge. |
